Jeff Martin is a jazz trombonist, educator, composer, and arranger whose work reflects a lifelong commitment to performance, creative scholarship, and teaching. He was the Second Trombonist, Assistant Music Director, and Composer/Arranger for the United States Air Force’s premier jazz ensemble, the USAF Airmen of Note. In those roles, he performed internationally and contributed original compositions and large-ensemble arrangements to the contemporary big band repertoire. His creative voice is grounded in a deep respect for the jazz tradition and a belief that improvisation is both disciplined craft and personal expression. A dedicated educator, Martin mentors emerging musicians in developing technical command, stylistic fluency, and the confidence to discover their own artistic voice. Whether on stage, in rehearsal, or working with students, he strives to connect performance, composition, and pedagogy in inspiring and meaningful ways.
